About the rowing venue, Bloso Hazewinkel
The Hazewinkel regatta course is situated in Willebroek which is situated near the city of Mechelen, between Antwerp 18 km North Brussels 20 km South and is part of a natural reserve.
It is a well-known green rowing lake which hosted many international events such as World Championships in 1985, World FISA Masters Regatta in 2000 or World U23 Championships in 2006 and the European Rowing Junior Championships in 2014. It regularly welcomes teams as part of their preparation (e.g. France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, New Zealand).
It is a FISA category A standard course - 8 lanes – with separate warm-up and cool-down zones.
